On Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 10 to noon, the Stand Together Group from the West Mifflin Area Middle School is hosting a 5K ColorRun/Walk. The purpose of this run/walk is to raise awareness of the stigma surrounding mental illness. The starting line will be at the middle school track, which is behind the building. The event will occur on the middle school/high school campus. There will be four stations that will represent a different disorder. In doing this, the Stand Together Middle School Group hopes that each participant will walk away from this event being more compassionate and knowledgeable of mental illness. The cost of the event is $15 per person. Each paid registrant will receive a T-shirt to mark the event. All children 10 and under are free, but if you would like a T-shirt for that child, the registration fee must be paid. All proceeds will benefit RESOLVE Crisis Network. The RESOLVE Crisis Network helps provide counseling services to Allegheny County Residents, regardless of age or ability to pay.
